Sorry for the lack of fish reports, we have been having some computer problems. Nevertheless, the salmon bite has been hit andd miss .The water is extremely cold and clear. We had a light load on Sunday and finished the day with two fish, but we released four that would have made the size limit last month.
We fished Tomales bay for Halibut on Friday with no luck. However, we anchored up and caught some rays and an Angel Shark. We have started taking reservations for our Lake Berryessa trout and Kokanee trips.
Rockcod season will open on June 13th. If this clear water stays around until then they should bite well.
If you send an e-mail please include a phone #; we are still having trouble sending e-mails.
The Salmon are here and they are biting! Fished 300 feet of water off the river today,6 limits, fish up to 13lbs. Lots of fish caught today.
Almost everyone that tried today had some success. The fish were taking almost everything you put in the water, watermelon sting kings, straight bait and hoochies.
We should find out next week what is going to happen with the rest of the season.
We still have some spots available on the Samantha Irene and the Payback. Stop by the shop for all your salmon tackle needs or just for coffee in the morning.
The word is in - we WILL have a Salmon season. It is opening April 3rd, based on current regulations. So far, there are no changes in size, limit, or areas available to fishing. However, we don't know what the season will be after April, so make sure to book your trip early!
We are still booking crab trips with an average of 8-12 crabs per trap.
We got some good information on the Kokanee fishing at Lake Berryessa. We are going to be fishing there the beginning of the week to see if the good reports are true.
The shop will hold all appropriate Salmon fishing supplies: lead, tray bait and a large selection of lures.
The shop will be open every day during Salmon season at 5:30 am.
Looks like we might have a Salmon season. It is scheduled to open April 3, 2010. However, fishing may only be allowed inside three miles. Book your trips early; spots will fill up fast! Lots of crabs continue to show up, so Salmon/Crab combos will be available. The shop will be fully stocked with Salmon gear, tray bait, and lead.
