We did our first Tomales bay Halibut trip of the year today,we finished the day with 6 keepers to 9 lbs,6 shakers and 2 droped fish.

We are using our pontoon boat and launching it in Marshall which makes for a short boat ride to the fishing grounds.We might start doing Halibut and shark fishing charters there,we will keep you informed.

As you know our son Jake races karts and the track has changed the start times of the races to later in the day which will let me be able to do 3/4 day trips on these days.These trips will leave at the normal time (6:15) and will return to the dock at 1:00 the price for these trips will be $90.00 per person plus tackle.

We had SF BAY halibut trips on Friday and Saturday,Friday i had a light load of 3 and ended the day with 4 fish to 7 lbs.On saturday Capt Mike ran my boat and finished the day with 5 keepers to 10 lbs and 6 shakers.

Still have some room for the Eureka Salmon but the spots are filling up FAST.

Jake made another cleen sweep at Dixon last night (were racing at night under the lights to beat the heat)Winning both heat races,the trophy dash and the main event.

We have SF bay halibut trips going out this weekend,we still have room on sundays trip.Dave on the payback still has soom room on a Gualaha trip on June 13th and I have some room on a local trip on the 14th.

We did hear of some Halibut being caught in Tomales Bay this week.

We would also like to say CONGRATS to our daughter Samantha and the Tomales High School Varsity Softball team for winning the League Championship!!!!!!!!.

Jake is the points leader at Cora speedway in the JR outlaw class and we have started to put his new 250cc kart together that he will be racing next season.These are very fast karts weighing 240 lbs with 40 hp,He will have his hands full.

We had a SF Bay Halibut trip on 5-2,Had a light load of 3 anglers,By 8:30 we had 3 fish in the boat then the bite slowed way down.Ended the day with 4 fish to 8 lbs,2 shakers and a couple missed bites.

We are trying to get a trip together for Wendsday 5-6 and for Sunday 5-10

Our Salmon fishing trips in Eureka are starting to fill up fast,so if you are interested let us know.

Our Rockcod season will open on June 13th.We have some spots on the 13th and 14th for long range trips to Gualaha with Capt Dave on the Payback.We also have 3 spots for the 14th on the Samantha Irene.

We have also heard of a good Kokanee bite going on at Lake Berryessa when we get a trip together we will be going.

We have some opening for Halibut trips the 29th and sat May 2nd.Capt Bob and myself commercial halibut fished on wednesday and ended the day with 10 fish.

Want to go SALMON FISHING??????.There will be a 10 day salmon season from Eureka to the Oregon boarder starting Aug 29th-Sept 7th.We will be bringing the Samantha Irene to Eureka to fish. Hope everyone had a great Easter.We did a Halibut trip on SF Bay yesterday the bite was good first thing in the AM and then shut down and never picked back up,ended up with a fish per rod.

We do have room on a SF BAY halibut trip on easter sunday,and we are available any day next week, looks like the tides all week will be great for halibut.

Our rockcod season here in Bodega Bay will open on June 13th.

CAPT DAVE and the PAYBACK will be booking through the shop and he will be doing some of his long range rockcod trips going to GUALALA. His first trip is sunday june 14th and we have 3 spots left.

You will have lots of choices for fishing this spring and summer,Bodega Bay Rockcod,SF BAY halibut and Lake Berryessa salmon and trout.

Jake raced his first race of the season at Cora Speedway last saturday,He won both heat races,won the trophy dash and was lapping the pack in the main event when the fuel tank split and dumped all the fuel out (no fire,thank god). He will be back next saturday to try again.

Did our first Halibut trip of the year on SF BAY yesterday,with the help of Capt Bob from the Relentless and his son Justin we caught 5 keepers,1 shaker and lost another 8 fish to short bites.

The Samantha Irene is docked in Berkeley and we are booking trips now.

3-13-09 Looks like our rockcod season will be June 13 thru Oct 31,Does not look good for a salmon season this year.

We are almost finished installing the live bait tank on the Samantha Irene and we will be heading to Berkley to fish for Halibut.We have heard that some are already being caught.

We will be offering a full charter special of $600 for the boat and you can bring up to 6 people,this price will include Rods,Bait and Tackle.

Jake has 1 more race on the indoor series this year,Looks like he will finish 3rd in points out of 19 karts registered.He will now go to Cora speedway in Dixon to race the summer series.He finished 2nd there in points last season and says he WILL win the championship this year.

We are VERY PROUD of him.

Not much to report from over here,the crab bite is very slow and with no squid its very dead over here.

We are doing some whale watching trips when the wind stops blowing.

We are counting down the days until April 1st when we will be bringing the Samantha Irene down to Berkely to fish Halibut.

We will also be doing the Anderson sports show on March 6th - 8th and the Bodega Bay fish fest on April 4th - 5th Hope to see you there.

Not much going on here since the squid left town.We are getting the Samantha Irene ready to take to SF bay in April to Halibut fish.

Looks like our Rockcod season will be June thru Oct but we dont think we will have a salmon season.

We will be offering our Kokanee and King salmon trips on Lake Berryessa starting in May.

Because things are so slow right now the shop is only open in the early am,however there is a number on the door you can call and someone will be down to help you.

Not much going on here,the weather has not let us go chase the squid,and the crabbing is slow..Did here of some perch being caught on Doran beach but have not got to go yet.

We did here talk of maybe a salmon season this year but we will see.

We will have the Samantha Irene at Berkeley this spring fishing for Halibut,she will be docked at Berkeley Marina with trips leaving daily.

JAKES RACING REPORT........

He is racing the indoor series at Lakeport and is 3rd in points with 3 races to go.Last Saturday he Raced at Cora speedway in Dixon for their new years race,He won both heat races,was leading the main with 5 laps to go and threw the chain.We repaired it sent him back out,he had to start at the back of a 8 car field with 5 laps to go,we never thought he could make it to the front again but he drove around them all to win the main.He will at Cora this season and will be driving his JR outlaw kart and also a 125cc kart.

We will be going on vacation for a week leaving this sat,The shop will be open in the AM and John will be checking phone messages and returning calls.

Rockcod season is now over and the crab fishing is VERY SLOW.Yesterday we went out and pulled all our crab gear in,If we here of any crabs showing up we will reset the gear and start doing crab trips but for now it is time to fish for HUMBOLT SQUID.

The price for a squid trip will be $125 per person and $20 for the rod and jig rental.Give us a call if you would like to go.

Not much to report on the crab fishing,1-3 crabs per pot has been about the best we have done so far.Looks like 80-100 feet is the best.

The rockcod bite has been good with a good number of lings showing up.

We found another source for our crab pots these are heavier than the others.These pots will sell for $135.00 for a 30" pot ready to fish with 120' rope with lineweights,bouy,bait bag and jar. We also have all your supplies for crabing along with ace line haulers and safety pullers.

We did here about some squid being caught and are going out to check it out soon,we will keep you posted.

5 more days to crab season,lets hope the weather holds out.Have not heard any GOOD reports of crab but we will just have to wait and see.

We did hear that the squid are out there just waiting to be caught,We are going to book weekday squid and crab combos until the end of Nov and then we will be doing them everyday.

We had some rockcod trips out last weekend,Capt Mike ran the Samantha Irene on sat and returned with limits of rockcod and 3 lings while fishing at Fort Ross.Capt Dave did one of his long range trips and returned with limits of BIG ROCKCODand 8 lings.

We still have some room on crab only trips on the Nov 1st opener,give us a call if you would like to go.

He finished the season 2nd in points,now he will race for the track championship at the winter series at Lakeport speedway.

9-22-08 We had some rockcod trips out last week,had limits of nice rockcod and a few lings while fishing just north of Fort Ross bouy.

We are taking booking for our rockcod -crab combos and also our crab only trips.

We just heard that the rockcod season will close for the waters ABOVE POINT ARENA on Sept 4th,but our season will go until NOV 30.Finally some good news!!!

We will be doing rockcod - crab combos starting Nov 1st,and also our crab only trips.Make your reservations early for these trips book up fast.As always we will offer crab cooking and cleaning at the shop.

The rockcod fishing has been great when we can get out.Did a trip above Salt Point last friday ended the day with 40 nice rockcod and 5 lings. The lings were biting white scampis.The weather looks like it will let us fish this weekend.

We have got our order of Dexter Russel fillet knives in and we are getting ready to order our crab pots,stop by and check out the one we have here and you can pre order them if you want.

Looks like the wind may settle down so we can get out.We have some spots available for this week and weekend.The rockcod have been biting good with limits for everyone on our charter boats.

We had a charter on Berryessa on 7-21-08 we finished the day with 7 kokanee to 17 1/2 and 1 2.5 lb smallmouth bass that hit our trolled salmon gear.

Jake raced sat 19th and sat 26th at cora speedway in Dixon,he won the main events both days and also won 3 out of 4 heat races.We decided to move him up a class for the 08 season now he likes going Faster and wants MORE MOTOR.

Limits of rockcod are being caught on all our charter boat trips.The Lingcod bite has been slow with about a 1 fish per trip average. We did hear of 2 Halibut caught off the Tomales bar over the weekend,and 1 caught south of Bird rock while Rockcod fishing.

We have some spots open on the charter boats for this week and weekend if you would like to go.

No news from over here,LOTS of wind have not been able to get out.From what I have heard the crab fishing is real slow.Now for the good news,Under a month to go for Rock cod.Also we did our first Lake Berryessa trip on sunday,It was a good bite,we ended up with 8 kings,2 kokanee and 4 nice trout.As the water temp warms up the bite will turn on.The limit is 5 per angler,so if you would like to go give us a call. 4-8-08 Not much to report over here with no salmon fishing,not much going on with the crab fishing either.We have been doing some whale watching there are a few passing by.I was able to go Halibut fishing with Capt Jay from right hook sportfishing and Capt Bob from the Reelentles yesterday,we ended up with 8 fish to 13lbs we were fishing out of Berkley.So it looks like i will be taking the Samantha Irene down there to do so Halibut fishing,if you are interested in going give us a call and we will set it up.We are also taking bookings for our Lake Berryessa Trout and Salmon fishing.

3-26-08 Not much news to report from here,we have been doing some whale watching and will be shark fishing next week.Have been getting some good reports from Lake Berryessa so we will be heading up there soon.This sat the 29th we will be at the west marine store in santa rosa for their flea market.April 4-5-6th we will have a booth at the Santa Rosa sports show and the next weekend we will have a booth at the Fish Fest. Well from what we have heard it does not look good for our salmon season,a final decision will be made in mid April.Looks like the April 5th opener will not happen,we will let you know if we here anything new.

There will be some good morning tides in April so we will be shark fishing.We will also be doing our charters on Lake Berryessa for trout and landlocked salmon(maybe the only place to catch a salmon this year).The good news is rock cod should open on June 1st.
